Meet at Manchester Airport for your flight to Cape Town.

Thursday 24 August

Upon arrival, meet your coach and initially you will visit the most iconic landmark in South Africa - Table Mountain where you will enjoy a cable car ride to the summit to witness some fantastic views across Cape Town, Table Bay, Robben Island and more. 

Afterwards you will continue onto your hotel where you will be based for the following four nights.  Dinner is included for you this evening.

Friday 25 August

This morning transfer to the V&A Waterfront to board a ferry to visit Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you will enjoy a tour of this infamous prison from an ex-political prisoner where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years.  At the agreed time, you will transfer to play your first set of matches on tour.

Matches 1: Local Hockey Side v. Queen Margaret's School

Saturday 26 August

Today you will transfer to the Goedgedacht Trust, the focus of the Trust is on helping rural children and youth in West Coast and Boland towns to break free from the cycle of generational poverty. The Path Out of Poverty or “POP” program seeks to transform rural communities, by offering the next generation of children the opportunity to become healthy, self-confident, educated young people. You will take part in POP activities such as assist in the Kindergarten , the after school club and undertake some sports coaching. A Lunch is also included.

You will then play netball games the Trust.

Sunday 27 August

This morning check out of your hotel and transfer to Camps Bay, located on the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and adjacent to Table Mountain, spend some time on the white sandy beach and perhaps enjoy a lunch at one of the many beachfront restaurants.   If you are feeling brave you can dip your toes into the cold Atlantic Ocean.

This afternoon transfer to the The V&A Waterfront one of Africa’s most visited cultural and historical hubs,  enjoy some last minute shopping at the The Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre which is the main shopping mall at the V&A Waterfront, and plays host to hundreds of stores, and dozens of restaurants.

Monday 28 August

Check out this morning you will enjoy a Lelapa Meal at Sheila's Cafe located in Langa Township. At the agreed time, you will transfer to play your next set of matches on tour.

Matches 3: Local Hockey Side v. Queen Margaret's School

After your matches you will check into your hotel for the following two nights.

Tuesday 29 August

This morning a suggestion would be to enjoy Jet Boating Experience, you will take a high-speed eco-cruise down the coast in these two rigid inflatable boats which are renowned for their speed, safety and efficiency on the water. 

At the agreed time, you will transfer to play your final set of matches on tour.

Matches 4: Local Netball Side v. Queen Margaret's School

Overnight: Lagoon Beach Hotel, Bed & Breakfast 

 

Wednesday 30 August

Check out this morning and transfer to Hermanus, known as the Whale Watching capital of the world.  On arrival you will head to the coast for a Whale Watching Excursion, allowing you to get up close and personal with these magnifient animals in their natural environment.

This evening check into the Windsor Hotel for the next night on tour.

Thursday 31 August

Depart your hotel this morning and transfer to the Garden Route Game Lodge, where you will be based for the following night on tour. Once settled in, you will embark on your first Escorted Game Drive, where you will head out on a 4x4 with an experienced ranger and search for South Africa's 'Big 5'. A lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino.

Return to the lodge for the evening at your leisure.

Friday 1 August

Rise early this morning for your final Escorted Game Drive for your last chance to spot the 'Big 5'.  Return for breakfast at the lodge before checking out and transferring back to Cape Town for your return flight to Manchester.

Saturday 2 August

Upon arrival in Manchester, collect your luggage and disperse for home.

We hold assured member status with the School Travel Forum (STF), the body who promote, standardise and regulate best practice in education travel.

 

Safety Management System 

We assess each component of a sports tour individually, which includes going beyond assessing the adventure factor to ensure risks can be managed effectively. In doing so, we look at how we can enhance the original experience whilst remaining as safe as possible. Covering policy, organisation, planning and setting standards, monitoring, audits, and reviews, our SMS is fully compliant with the requirements of the STF.

This is reinforced by our annual assessment carried out by an STF appointed independent authority. To support our own SMS we also carry out internal regular reviews of our health and safety procedures.

Depending on your destination certain testing requirements may be necessary before you leave the UK, at your destination and for returning to the UK from overseas
